Dear Students,

This short course is prepared to help you in the final stages of your preparation. It is ONLY for YOU.

The conditions included here are the most common conditions encountered by students; this does not mean that you cannot encounter conditions not included here. It is your responsibility to do a comprehensive review on your own.

  • What is happening in the body (summarized pathophysiology)?
  • What are the main causes and risk factors (including genetic factors if relevant)?
  • What are the key signs and symptoms, and which ones are most concerning?
  • What focused nursing assessment would you perform first for this patient?
  • How is this condition diagnosed (key tests and investigations)?
  • What lab values are relevant, and what abnormalities would you expect?
  • What is the medical management and overall goal of treatment?
